The Missionʼs Committee, GO Team would like to highlight La Casa de Fe Orphanage in Shell, Ecuador for the month of January.
Casa de Fe is an orphanage started by Patti Sue Arnold. What started as a Missionary serving in Ecuador having a handicapped baby left on her door steps has now turned into this wonderful facility that lovingly raises over sixty two children most of them with some sort of handicap.
In Patti Sueʼs last news letter “Finger Prints of Faith” she is sending out an urgent message for money. Donations have been down for three months in a row the first time ever. It costs around $5,000.00 a year per child. If you are thinking of some way to help at this blessed time of year, helping to continue pouring the love of the Lord into these children that they may grow up to be mighty men and women of God would honor God and really help in fullfilling the “Great Commission”.
Talk to Krissy at the church office for an address on where to send a gift, or go to their web sight, www.lacasadefe.org.
We have two great services at 6:00 on Saturday Night (Ignite) & 9:30 on Sunday mornings.. Our services typically run for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Cross Training: This will kill you! The Cross is the place of suffering and pain not comfort and convenience. Toomany of us find ourselves trying to put a cushion on the Cross so it won’t be so ugly and uncomfortable. Our Christianity gets a little too overlaid with gold and stained glass and we find ourselves unable to deal with the reality of life and all it’s pain and inconvenience. We might even leave Church feeling hopeful and inspired and positive for the moment but then the reality of life during the week comes all too quickly and we suddenly feel hopeless, stressed out, and completely confused. Where is God in the middle of all this? As we follow Jesus on his path to the Cross, we learn some painfully tough choices that we need to make in order to discover the true life that Jesus died and rose again to give us. This Cross Training Course will be the toughest course you’ll ever take. As a matter of fact, it will kill you.
